Whats your happy place? Your place of utter relaxation and peace where you can retreat to re-charge yourself on a daily basis?
Is it reading a book?
Napping?
Prayer!
Coffee?
A cold Beer outside in the sun?
Something that's not a big deal that u don't need to pay for or find a sitter for but something quick and simple.
I think everybody needs to know what their thing is. When you find yourself stressed, snapping at everyone, or just plain depressed you can retreat to have 20 minutes or an hr of time just for you.
This is not selfish! How can you take care of others when you can't keep up with caring for yourself.
So find your thing and go do it today! Trust me when your done the people that have to be around you will thank you!
I used to think mine was working out and having a devotion each day. Now I realize that yes those things are important to do daily I need something a little more "just because" so now I make a cappicino and drink it reading my book for 30 mins or so while the baby's napping. Or on warm days like today I pull my lawn chair into the sun, put the baby monitor outside, grab a cold blue moon, my book and I'm in my "happy place"!
ReplyDeleteMy happy place is my bottom bunk bed with a flash light, an interactive stuffed animal, aka, Pony or Kiki kitty - used to be Pickles and Baby Belle - and an easy read. When I moved to my little cottage, I was leaving a very dysfucntional and emotionally draining environment, so waking up and seeing the wooded bars above me always reminds me of my healing place. I still sleep peacefully everynight!
